for Cumbria County Council and Allerdale Borough Council.
Also a Councillor on Aikton Parish Council.
I have been a County Councillor for 11 years, and am Chairman
of the Children & Young People's Scrutiny Panel. This
Panel has a brief to scrutinise all the Childrens' services
from birth to 18 years of age. With it brings many sub committees
in the form of Task Groups (Time Limited work on a particular
issue).
I am also on the Health & Well Being Scrutiny Panel, which
scrutinises the Health Service, making sure that the whole
of the County has equal access to NHS services. I am also
on the Audit Committee, Personnel Cases, Cumbria Local Access
Forum, along with the Cumbria CC Pensions Forum (an annual
monitoring of the County's Pension provision and the Solway
AONB.
I have 10 Parish Councils in my County ward (3 being co-terminous
with my Borough Ward). They have more than 60 meetings per
year, and the local Forum (Bowness, Thursby and Caldbeck Forum)
has at least 4 meetings, and more if so required.
I am also on the Age Concern North West Cumbria Co. Board
(a company limited by Guarrantee) and the North Allerdale
Partnership Board (company limited by guarrantee), which is
about Regeneration.
I have been an Allerdale Borough Councillor for 5 years. I
am on the Community Scrutiny Committee, The Standards Committee,
and the Audit Committee. I am also on the Allerdale Community
Fund, which distributes grants to Allerdale and Copeland Borough
sports, arts and other bodies for various charitable funds
which are availble in the area.

hold surgeries on the last Friday of each month at:-
The Crown Inn, Hesket Newmarket at 10 am to 11 am
The Thursby Parish Hall, at 12 am to 1 pm
Kirkbride CDC, behind Kirkbride School 2 pm to 3 pm
